As part of an ongoing expansion, a cosmetics and pharmaceutical company required a new process building with a new production line, which also involved rerouting existing chemical supplies. The project was complicated by the tank farm's necessary environmental compliance for IPPC licensing.
BIS Industrial Services audited the existing chemicals storage and distribution to assess safety, health and environmental issues, and to determine the most appropriate plant layout. A front-end engineering design and estimate was produced, with implementation and budget options.
THE SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
The new building required three utility systems to be extended to handle six different chemicals in bulk on the site. The proposed project involves relocating tanks, providing eight new pumps, new civils throughout the area, a new pipebridge and around 1000 metres of pipework.
BIS-IS audit team delivered independent advice on how current operations stood against existing legislation, and a master plan with budget options was produced for developing the tank farm to meet current and future needs. Deliverables included ELD's, layout drawings, pump datasheets and piping specifications. We also produced a phase philosophy for implementing the necessary work, all of which helped the Client when working with the regulatory authorities and in the budgetng process.
