BIS Industrial Services was contracted to take the technical lead in engineering and designing the installation of a large paper winding machine being sourced from Italy and installed in the UK.

Our work entailed the provision of a new 11kV supply, transformers, switchgear and controls, to be located within the restricted confines of an existing building and then integrated into current site supplies without interrupting the workflow.

We began by analysing the prevailing 11kV infrastructure including load, fault level and protection studies. Subsequently, recommendations were made as to the most cost-effective way of utilising existing supplies to give the required security of feed to the new machine,.

BIS-IS also provided consultancy services to evaluate the electrical and control systems of the imported equipment against ruling UK legislation.
