RAILWAY SIGNAL GANTRIES

In 2003, BIS-IS was contacted to deliver 24 railway gantries over a 14 month period.

Over 6m in height, 18m span and weighing in excessof 15 tonnes, all the gantries were delivered to time against a challenging programme linked to track possessions booked many months in advance. The gantries were dressed with cable tray, signal cables and walkways, prior to the sectional site installation.

The installations themselves were carried out in 24 hour possession windows. Accurate fabrication was essential, since on-site modifications were not an option.

Diligent fabrication and quality control ensured all these challenges were met and the whole project was delivered on time in full.
