BIS Industrial Services – One Million Worked Hours Without a Lost Time Injury
BIS Industrial Services is celebrating one million worked hours without a lost time injury. This significant achievement is the result of a continuing effort by all BIS-IS personnel to attaining an injury-free workplace, and reinforces the company’s commitment to protecting the health and safety of its personnel.
The one million worked hours have included a wide range of tasks within the oil, gas, chemical and process manufacturing industries at locations throughout the UK. A variety of work has been undertaken including projects, shutdowns and routine maintenance tasks, often within challenging environments.
This is the first occasion that this milestone has been reached since the formation of BIS-IS in January 2010. It is evidence of the commitment and effort invested in ensuring that the company has strong systems and processes in support of safe working, and also the significant contribution made by company personnel through safe workplace practices. The achievement reinforces the existing message that our workplace activities can be undertaken without injury, and sets a challenge for the future to maintain the performance. Everyone has a part to play, but to succeed we must all focus on ensuring that positive health and safety outcomes are our priority.
Managing Director Duncan Hall commented “To attain this milestone in our first year as a new business is a fantastic achievement by all our personnel and demonstrates that we have continued to deliver a health and safety performance to be proud of.”
To recognise this milestone a significant donation will be made to a charity nominated by the employees.
