BIS Industrial Services Innospec Staff are Increasing Their Knowledge of Health and Safety.
BIS Industrial Services Project Manager at Innospec is going to great lengths to ensure that all site staff posses the necessary knowledge of health and safety in their working environments.
Recently the Co-Coordinators, Supervisors and Charge hands based at the Innospec Ellesmere Port and Widnes sites attended the IOSH Managing Safely in the Engineering and construction industry module they also achieved their NVQ level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision.
The courses have been specifically designed to ensure that all supervisory or management personnel are fully equipped with the required on site health and safety knowledge to ensure the safety of themselves and others. The course provides attendees with a vast range of information. This included knowledge of any legal requirements and accountability for health and safety, the principles of managing HSE and even measuring performance and the importance of environmental management system.
The module is tailored to the needs of the chemical Industry sector and is also accredited by IOSH for the Managing Safely in the Engineering Construction Industry Award. The module lasted for four days and all attendees were extremely proactive during training and discussion groups.
BIS-IS are constantly training and developing all staff at all levels of the organisation to ensure that they are always aware of the required health and safety responsibilities. Good HSEQ and employment safety is of paramount importance. BIS Industrial Services believe in safety, and base all day to day working activities on the concept that ‘zero is possible.’ In the process, energy and petrochemical sectors, site safety is vital.
