Effective 1st January 2010, the two companies will trade under the new brand BIS Industrial Services Ltd. led by Duncan Hall, currently Managing Director at BIS OHARE. BIS Salamis M&I based in Aberdeen, serving the offshore Oil & Gas markets will remain unchanged following this restructure under the management of Mike Main.

Duncan is confident that the merger will support BIS UK to sustain and accelerate the growth of its UK operations and told us, “This is an exciting development for both organisations which will ensure we maintain our position at the forefront of providing a unique range of bespoke outsourced solutions to the onshore refinery, chemical, power and process distribution markets”.

“This move is a natural progression for our organisation which will enable us to increase synergies throughout the organisation, share best practice and maximise opportunities to ensure that we deliver services to our customers of the highest possible standard”.

“As always, customers are at the heart of every decision that we make and with this merger we will be able to respond to their needs and provide a truly comprehensive range of services. This will include mechanical, electrical and structural services, as well as complementary trades such as scaffolding, insulation and corrosion protection”.

“Customers will be able to continue using our services independently or as combined services. The combined services provision within BIS Industrial Services has fantastic potential to save customers up to 20% of their existing costs through economies of scale, cross discipline working and planning for alternative access, the key being providing this through one organisation that is focussed on minimising all the key costs, the majority of which are our own resources and equipment”.

“Under this new umbrella, our clients will be able to benefit from an increased product range, clearer lines of accountability, and will have further access to some of the markets leading product and service sets. As well as our existing services we are setting up a Technical Support Division under the leadership of Dave Nickerson who will not only provide additional back-up to the operational teams but has a mandate to deliver innovative products and solutions to our customers”.

“On behalf of the management team, I would like to thank our stakeholders for the support they have given the two onshore businesses in the past and look forward to strengthen these relationships further through our new BIS Industrial Services business solution.”

The BIS Industrial Services Ltd Board will consist of Duncan Hall (MD), Dave Nickerson ( Technical Support Director), Paul Ashcroft (Finance Director), Andy Birkett (Commercial Director), Steve Waugh { BIS UK} and Gordon Davidson {BIS UK}. Further appointments will be announced in due course.
