This year, BIS Industrial Services is sponsoring the Excellence in Engineering Award, recognising the contribution of engineering excellence in the chemical industry towards improved business performance, innovation and outstanding delivery of engineering. Entries will be welcomed from chemical operator organisations or from suppliers who provide outsourced engineering services to the industry and will be expected to cover all necessary engineering activities including:

·        Asset reliability improvement,

·        Technical problem solving, shutdown management,

·        Contract strategy development,

·        Capital productivity improvement,

·        Cost reduction programmes

·        Process technology application.

The award will recognise engineering excellence that produces tangible business benefits such as contribution to improving safety and environmental performance, reducing engineering costs, improving plant output, operating efficiency or product quality.

In addition to this award, the CIA are promoting a further eleven award categories including a Responsible Care Award, Young Ambassador Award, Innovation Award and a Manufacturing & Resource Efficiency Award to name but a few.
